Berlin plays host to the annual consumer electronics show known as Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA), which opened Friday. Nearly every manufacturer--Hitachi being one of the most prominent--is touting full high-definition displays. The trade show closes Wednesday.

LG.Philips LCD makes a 100-inch LCD screen, the world's largest in its class.
Flat projector
LG.Philips LCD makes this flat projector that can be mounted on a wall. Manufacturers have been able to shrink projectors thanks to the development of better components. Some hope to eventually incorporate projectors into cell phones.
