Photos: Heathrow Express app kills paper tickets

Buy a barcode instead...
Business travellers can now buy tickets for the Heathrow Express train service that links Heathrow Airport with central London using their smartphone, which then acts as the ticket itself.
The free Heathrow Express app allows iPhone owners to buy a train ticket via their device and receive a barcode that acts as a virtual train ticket, pictured above.
Tickets can be paid for with all major credit and debit cards, except Maestro.
Heathrow Express said the app has been accredited by Barclays and is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) - the international standard for data security.
As well as storing purchased tickets, pictured above left, the app includes live updates for the Heathrow Express train service.
Users of Android and BlackBerry smartphones have not been forgotten. Mobile ticketing apps enabling Droid lovers and BlackBerry addicts to buy tickets for the Heathrow Express, and receive a barcode ticket direct to their device, launched at the end of last year.
Pictured above are two screenshots from the BlackBerry version of the Heathrow Express app.
