Ribbons, photo editing and co-authoring come to latest Office for Apple users
Earlier this month, Microsoft announced Office for Mac 2011 is set to go on sale in October.
On Wednesday, the company said Office for Mac will have two features included in the latest PC version of the suite: built-in photo editing and mini charts in Excel, known as Sparklines. Sparklines allow users to see the trend in individual data points.

Among the features Microsoft is adding to Office for Mac are some basic photo-editing tools - allowing things such as colour correction or background removal - seen here working in PowerPoint.

The photo-editing tools will also be part of Word and Excel, Microsoft said.

Office for Mac 2011's Word will also feature co-authoring, allowing several individuals to work on the same document without having to create different versions.

The productivity suite will also feature the ribbon user interface familiar to users of earlier PC versions of Office.
