We thought winter was the perfect time of year to challenge the TechRepublic community to submit camera phone photos of snow and ice.
Our first place photo was taken by TR member admin with a Nokia X6. He said, "This is a snow and ice fender stratocaster guitar that I made in my back yard during the recent snow we had in Poole, Dorset, in the south of England. The pick ups and machine head screws I carved out of ice."
The second place photo was taken by TR member Laura.Hassett with an iPhone 4G of water flowing under ice from the gutter during an ice storm in Atlanta, GA.
We have three 3rd place photo this week. This one was taken by TR member gadget with an HTC Incredible ADR6300. "We don’t see a lot of snow here in Boise. What we get doesn’t last long, but we do get the cold. I got a pretty good shot of my Rain Gutter Chain all frozen up. This photo is as shot from the phone, no enhancements or touch ups."
Another third place photo was taken by TR member simpsonjon with an HTC Desire. He said, "I had two feet of snow on my driveway."
Our final third place photo was taken by TR members Darryl~ and PurpleSkys with a BlackBerry Bold 9700 of Joseph Howe Falls, a popular destination for hikers along the trails in Victoria Park.

He said, "The white balance was set wrong, which yielded the interesting color, but the texture was the result of a thin layer of ski wax on the camera lens from carrying the camera and wax together in a pocket in my ski pants. Learned my lesson. Won’t do that again. But it still created a very interesting photo."
