A couple of weeks ago, we encouraged the TechRepublic community to submit sports photos that they had taken with a camera phone.

The winning photo, as decided by the TR editorial staff, was taken by TR member outlawmom with a BlackBerry Curve of the Del Mar Race Track from the Turf Club.

The third place photo was taken by TR member sjohnson23 with a Sony Ericsson C905 (8.1 Megapixel Cyber-shot) of the Quarter Final World Cup match of Ghana vs. Uruguay, just before the kickoff.

He said, "The Vuvuzelas were at full force for this incredible event and with it being my first attendance at a World Cup Match, my adrenaline was rushing through my veins. Being surrounded by proud and supportive natives of South Africa made this adventure one of which I shall never forget and always strive to do again.

"Unfortunately, my camera phone's zoom and low-light shooting capabilities leave much to be desired, so the photos I have are very blurry. Regardless of this, I still treasure them and gladly share them when asked."
