Samsung Electronics and Asiana Airlines will launch a special edition of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus that airline members can buy with mileage points.

The company will only sell 2,000 units of the special edition, according to ChosunBiz, and customers can apply for it between April 7 and April 17, which are the same dates for pre-ordering the regular versions.

Members can buy the phones at a reduced price with 30,000 mileage points.

The customized edition has a specially made Asiana theme and the home screen displays the airline's logo when turned on.

Korea's second-largest airline said it will offer more services for customers that will allow them to utilize their mileage going forward.

Samsung and Asiana cooperated earlier for a special edition last year for the Galaxy S7.

Samsung offered apps for flight reservations and upped security through its Knox customization for the S7, but these features were not revealed for the S8.

Local analysts expect the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus to sell well and help Samsung reach record profit in the second quarter.
