The Nexus One lookalike coming next month...
The HTC Desire, first announced at Mobile World Congress back in February, is set to hit UK shops from next month.
The Desire is the latest in a long line of Android handsets by the Taiwanese smartphone maker, and runs on version 2.1 of the operating system, known as Éclair.

The Desire also sports HTC's new user interface, Sense.
Sense features a social media aggregator called Friend Stream, which brings together all of a contacts messages or social media updates - be they SMS, email, photos on Flickr or Facebook, or Twitter posts - and aggregates them all under that contact's information.

Sense devices are location-aware - the Desire comes with GPS and Google Maps - and can automatically update the time and weather forecast if they move to a new area or time zone.

As well as its 3.7-inch Amoled capacitive touchscreen, the Desire also comes with an optical trackpad for navigation.

Most UK operators have already pledged to carry the phone from April, including Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone.

The Desire shares many of its features and much of its design with the Google Nexus One, also made by HTC and set to be released in the UK shortly.
