If you were hoping for massive price cuts from Apple during today's Black Friday retail marathon, you may be dissappointed.
Apple's Black Friday sales began yesterday in Australia and New Zealand as clocks flipped past midnight at various time zones across the globe. Apple's discounts are modest at best, but decent considering that the company pretty much never discounts anything. The only exception is Apple's educational discount which ranges from 5-10% on the purchase of a Mac.
A sampling of the discounts Apple is offering in Australia and New Zealand:
- 13" White MacBook $999 -$114 (11%) $884.98
- 15" 2.53GHz MB Pro $1699 -$154 (9%) $1544.00
- 21" 3.06GHz iMac $1199 -$130 (11%) $1,068.99
Apple's U.S. Black Friday discounts range from 4-10% and cover the iPod nano, iPod touch, Apple TV, MacBook Pro and iMac. Curiously, the entry-level, plastic MacBook wasn't included in the U.S. Black Friday discounts. Prices for Apple kit have also been reduced at MacMall, MacConnection and Amazon. A number of App Store discounts are available at App Shopper.
