Apple has announced that its iAd mobile advertising network will arrive in Europe next month.

The iOS ad network launched in the US in July and has signed up more than half of the top 25 US national advertisers in its first four months of operation, according to Apple. Andy Miller, Apple's VP of iAd, says the number of advertisers on the network has doubled since launch.

Brands that will be included in the European iAd launch are AB InBev, Absolute Radio, Citi, Evian, LG Display, L'Oréal, Louis Vuitton, Nespresso, Perrier, Turkish Airlines, Renault and Unilever, according to Apple.

"We're thrilled by the quality, the interactivity and the depth of iAd's user experience, giving us an unparalleled opportunity to reach and serve the most engaged and discerning customers," Marc Menesguen, L'Oréal's head of strategic marketing, said in a statement.

iAd enables advertisers to place adverts within apps running on the iOS 4 platform, and lets users interact with the ads without exiting an app. Developers get 60 per cent of ad revenues.
