    Apple says the iPhone X's custom battery design that lasts up to two hours longer between charges than iPhone 7. Apple is promising up to 21 hours of talk time, 12 hours of Internet use, 13 hours of video playback (wireless), and 60 hours of audio playback (wireless).

    With fast charging, you can charge the iPhone X's battery to half full in 30 minutes.

  • New cameras

    New cameras

    The iPhone X features dual 12-megapixel wide-angle and telephoto cameras on the rear. Of course there's optical zoom, digital zoom up to 10x, and Live Photos stabilization. Panaroma mode, body and face detection, and Quad-LED True Tone flash with Slow Sync.

    The 7-megapixel front-facing camera uses TrueDepth to perform an aperture-reduction trick in its Portrait mode to make selfies look better.

    Facial recognition

    Since it ditched Touch ID, Apple has turned to Face ID. It uses a bunch of sensors in the notch on the front of the device to scan to unlock, authenticate, and pay. Apple says Face ID is enabled by the TrueDepth camera and projects and analyzes more than 30,000 invisible dots to create a precise depth map of your face.

    Like the new iPhone 8, Apple's added wireless charging to the iPhone X. It will be capable with Apple's new AirPower charging mat, along with other Qi wireless chargers. Of course, you can still charge with a Lightning cable.

    Faster chipset

    Apple has included its new A11 Bionic chip with 64-bit architecture and neural engine that it claimed is capable of up to 600 billion operations per second. Over the A10, the four efficiency cores in the all‑new CPU are up to 70 percent faster than A10 Fusion. There's also an embedded M11 motion coprocessor.

    Past that big screen and all-glass back, iPhone X is wrapped in a stainless steel band and "reinforces" the smartphone, according to Apple.

    iPhone X will be available in:

    • 64GB Silver
    • 256GB Silver
    • 64GB Space Gray
    • 256GB Space Gray

    With all that glass, you should also decide if you want Apple Care protection for your iPhone X.

    Will you pre-order or wait?

    If you're unable to nab one of the fist iPhone X pre-order batches, Apple said a limited stock will be available in-store on Nov. 3 at 8AM local time, but added walk-in customers should "arrive early." For the first time, Apple will start sales in all 57 countries and territories on the same day.
