The Readius, a concept gadget from Philips Polymer Vision, contains a flexible, scrollable display. The pocket-size "e-reader" stretches out to provide a 5-inch monochrome screen with a resolution of 320 by 240 pixels.
The display uses technology from E Ink intended to provide paperlike viewing. Polymer Vision created the prototype for the Internationale Funkausstellung show in Berlin, running through Sept. 7. It does not plan a commercial version.
